Sport at Beechwood

We encourage all our pupils to participate in a wide variety of sporting experiences, covering ball skills, body management, teamwork and individual tasks.

Above all, the emphasis is always on fun and participation. We believe that when pupils are enjoying their sport, they are most likely to learn and to improve. Playing in fixtures against other schools also enables them to experience team spirit and gain a sense of achievement.

Physical Education is also a popular and successful examination subject for study at GCSE.

Ski Trip

On top of the world!
The Ski Trip is an annual event open to pupils in Years 5 - 10, which takes place in the Easter holidays.

Next year, the venue will again be at La Thuile in the Aosta Valley, Italy, with around 40 pupils scheduled to take part.

Experienced trainers enable skiers to work for 1* to 5* Interski badges.

"Beautiful blue skies, heaps of snow and an abundance of laughter made this an unforgettable experience."

"It was much more fun than just skiing"

"The Ski Trip was an exciting and exhilarating experience filled with skiing, excessive pizza and pasta, ice skating, some regrettable shapes on the dance floor, tubing, games and the traditional lemon jousting."

"Big thanks are owed to all staff and parents, particularly Mrs Mitchell, for a brilliant trip!"
Jo, Nicole, Vanessa and Niona
