Beechwood in top 5 Kent Schools
The Department for Education and Skills published its annual Achievement and Attainment Tables last week. This year, independent schools have been excluded from the value added component, and a new points system has been used to evaluate performance in the public examinations taken last summer.
Beechwood A level students gained an average score of 242.5 points per exam entry, equivalent to just over a B-grade for each A-level subject.
Mr Beesley commented, “Although we never chase league table positions by artificially increasing the number of subjects taken by each pupil, this particular statistic is a genuine measure of the performance of our girls in last years’ A and AS exams. The girls, and all of their teachers, can be justifiably proud of this achievement. It is no surprise that all our students gained places on their preferred Higher Education courses.”
