Saucy Salsa and the Jailhouse Rocked!

On Wednesday after school the Auditorium was the stage for the House Dance Competition. Kildare kicked off with a vibrant interpretation of the classic Jailhouse Rock. Vanessa and Fafa were obviously born in the wrong generation as they led their team of rock chicks and chaps.

Then on came Lima with an equally lively version of the same number.  Miranda even managed to get Mr Beesley up for a few twirls too! The mood then changed and the Avila Salsa dancers took centre stage.

They had certainly learnt the right moves from Miss Cruickshank’s dance classes and their costumes were outstanding.

Finally we watched Assisi boogy their way to win the competition with a sparkling and energetic jive. Claire and Monta then  demonstrated their grace and rhythm with a cha-cha to entertain the audience whilst the judges worked out their scores.

The competition was very close with a very high standard of dancing - watch out Mark Ramprakash - those Beechwood girls know how to wow an audience.
