Greenwich Royal Observatory

At the end of November Year 5 went on an exciting trip to the Greenwich Royal Observatory. We went straight to the Meridian Line where we could stand with one foot in the east and other in the west. We visited the home of the first ever Astronomer Royal, John Flamsteed, and saw the famous Octagon Room.

The rest of the day was taken up with a professional talk about the Earth, Moon and Sun, but the highlight of the day was our visit to the Planetarium, relaxing in comfy seats, gazing at the Galaxy and learning lots of new facts about our solar system.

A fantastic day!
