Prep School Pupils Step Back in Time

On Wednesday for their celebrations to mark the Feast of the Sacred Heart, the pupils in the Prep School stepped back in time to the Victorian era. A time when teachers were very strict, when much of the food we now take for granted was not available, and when social etiquette and rules were quite different. All the children from Nursery to Year 5 enjoyed an assembly visit from a School Inspector, a Victorian lesson and playtime with period toys and an opportunity to experience Victorian dancing. One highlight was when everyone gathered together and enjoyed playing a selection of Victorian parlour games from charades and tableaus to singing popular songs of the day. Thank you to everyone who made the most tremendous effort with costumes and bringing authentic food for their picnic lunches on Fountain Lawn. All the children and staff had a really great day.
