Visit from a Journalist
On 11 November we had a special guest come in to Year 6 to talk about his life as a Sports Journalist. His name was Frederick Burcombe, but when he was younger his byline was Fred Burcombe because Fredrick was too long to fit into the last line of his report!
The talk was full of information and tips on how to be a good journalist. Mr Burcombe reported mostly on boxing and football, he once followed a world champion boxer into hospital to get a report! He also reported on the 1984 Olympics and the Millennium. Today he reports on travel and a bit of sport for magazines.
It was a very informative afternoon and we would like to thank Mr Burcombe for sharing his very exciting world with us. Ben Thornton
