An Outstanding Evening of Drama
We often take high calibre drama for granted at Beechwood, but the standards achieved on the Senior Drama Evening were truly outstanding. The audience was treated to a great variety of pieces delivered by an international cast.
The devised work exploited a range of concepts and issues using physicality, music and emotion. From the fun filled flight of the Trolley Dollies to the thought provoking President Olivia the groups carried the audience with them, demonstrating a high level of professional skill. The juxtaposition of pathos, teenage angst and humour only served to heighten the audience's enjoyment. Work of this calibre is only achieved by a great deal of hard work and team work and as ever the guiding hand of Sandy Truman helped the students to shine.
Well done to all those involved and I know that we will never look at a spoon or that gentle giant Thomas in the same way again! Well done to all who took part and thank you for such a stimulating and enjoyable evening.
