Flatford Mill

On 15 September, Year 11 set off to the borders of Suffolk to Flatford Mill for our Biology Field Trip. We arrived and settled in to Willy Lott's house, it was great to have everyone together in a small house with a living room where we could relax during our breaks and enjoy a nice cup of tea.

The outdoor classroom experience was exceptional as it was a big change from our everyday school life, we jumped into rivers and ponds collecting many different species, shrimps, non biting midgets, red larvae and many more. We also set some small mammal traps and a few of us caught field mice or vole, which we later freed.

We learnt a lot on this trip and really enjoyed it, thanks to all of the staff for making this possible.
