Rivers in January are cold, even when elegantly attired in numerous layers, waterproofs and wearing marigolds for protection against water born disease.
Day two was more civilised as we investigated the town of Ipswich looking at environmental quality and alarming local residents who thought our sound testing equipment was a hand held radar gun to check their speed on the road.
It was an intensive three days, working until 9 at night but we returned with valuable insights into our AS level topics and a new found love .... jelly babies - thank you Mrs Cox for the supply which kept us going.
