Viva España!

A group of 24 students from Years 8, 9 & 10 have just returned from four exciting days in the Spanish capital Madrid, soaking up the culture, speaking Spanish, and learning about the Spanish way of life.

Madrid is an exciting and vibrant city and the visit included something for everyone: street life, a guided tour of the city including a chance to watch the Spanish football team, on a large outdoor scree, play some excellent football. We also visited the lavish Royal Palace which has 2,800 rooms! Thankfully we only visited 20! Art lovers were able to appreciate some amazing modern art at the Reina Sofia art museum where the highlight was Picasso's famous painting of Guernica.

We also enjoyed an evening of flamenco, as well as an exciting day at a theme park. On the final morning we visited the Santiago Bernabeu football stadium, home to Real Madrid, and were able to pose for photographs with famous players. Unfortunately the players were only computer generated. This was an unforgettable experience for everyone.
