Sport at Beechwood

We encourage all of our pupils to participate in a wide variety of sporting experiences, covering ball skills, body management, teamwork and individual tasks. Above all, the emphasis is always on fun and participation. We believe that this creates the best environment for the individual to improve.

Physical Education is also a popular and successful examination subject for study at GCSE.

We offer a full range of sporting activities. In the Prep School, netball, football, cricket and rounders are played, with teams enjoying regular fixtures against local schools.

In the Senior School girls play hockey, netball, basketball, rounders, volleyball and badminton. Boys play football, rugby, hockey and cricket. The curriculum also includes athletics, fitness training, basketball and gymnastics.

The school's outdoor swimming pool is scheduled to be covered during the next three years. At present it is enjoyed in the Summer Term only, with Prep pupils learning to swim at the local Tunbridge Wells pool throughout the rest of the year.

In addition, trained coaches take extra-curricular classes in tennis, judo, trampolining, ballet and self-defence. These lessons take place at lunchtimes or after school.
