Examination Results
Beechwood is a wide-ability school and yet academic results are consistently strong, with Beechwood regularly placed in the top 10% of all schools in England for A-level university points. For two years running, Government league tables placed Beechwood as the top girls’ school in Kent for added value at GCSE.
In 2009, Beechwood was placed 236th in the Daily Telegraph national league table of top independent schools, having achieved 74% AB grades in the A level examinations.

Headmaster, Nicholas Beesley commented: “I am delighted with our students’ results this year. Overall they are the best we have had for several years, with exceptional results in traditional subjects such as Mathematics and English Literature. As always, however, the most satisfaction comes from knowing that each girl has achieved the very best results of which she is capable and that every student will now be able to go on to a course of their choice in higher education”

Headmaster Nicholas Beesley said “All of our students are to be congratulated on their examination results this year. The percentage of top grades has been increasing year on year at Beechwood, and I am delighted to see that this year more than half of the total grades achieved by our students were A* and A, with two girls deserving a special mention for gaining these grades in all their subjects. For some others, simply gaining passes in more than five subjects represents a huge achievement and this is equally pleasing for us. Well done to all our staff and students.”
