Examination Results

Academic results are consistently high with Beechwood regularly placed in the top 10% of all schools in England for A-level university points. For two years running, Government league tables have placed Beechwood as the top girls’ school in Kent for added value at GCSE.

Beechwood in top five schools
The Department for Education and Skills published its latest annual Achievement and Attainment Tables in January 2007. Beechwood was placed 5th out of all the schools in Kent, ahead of all the local girls’ independent schools and ahead of the selective girls’ grammar schools.

Beechwood A level students gained an average score of 242.5 points per exam entry, equivalent to just over a B-grade for each A-level subject.

The Headmaster, Mr Nicholas Beesley said

“Although some would argue differently, A-levels remain the best measure of a student’s academic ability, especially in what might be termed traditional subjects. Our girls continue to excel in these subjects, earning well-deserved places at top universities. We are very pleased with them all.”

 Headmaster Nicholas Beesley said
“As always the bare statistics do not tell the whole story about a great number of excellent individual successes. All of our pupils can be proud of their achievements.  I am particularly gratified that the percentage of our entries achieving the highest grades, A* and A, is continuing to rise year on year.”
