Welcome to Beechwood
Beechwood is set in 23 acres of beautiful parkland in the centre of Tunbridge Wells, less than one hour from London. The school is centred on a grand Victorian Mansion built in 1855 in the style of Osborne House, Queen Victoria's home on the Isle of Wight.
At Beechwood, every child is known as an individual. Our small class sizes allow teachers to understand each pupil’s strengths, interests and ambitions, giving them the personal attention, encouragement and challenge they need to make meaningful progress.
I am delighted that this approach has been recognised nationally, with Beechwood named South East Coast winner in The Telegraph’s Best Value Private Schools 2026 feature. For us, value in education is about what a child gains from their time at school: the quality of the teaching they receive, the opportunities they discover, the confidence they develop and the progress they make.
Whether your child joins us in Nursery at the age of 2 year, Prep, Senior School or Sixth Form, they become part of a warm and ambitious community where academic achievement and personal development go hand in hand. We want pupils to discover what excites them, develop strengths they may not yet know they have and leave Beechwood ready for what comes next.
Our 23 acres of parkland in the heart of Royal Tunbridge Wells give children exceptional space to learn and explore, from outdoor classrooms and Forest School to sport, creative opportunities and school life beyond the classroom.
Most importantly, Beechwood remains a school where relationships matter. Pupils are noticed, understood and encouraged to achieve more than they thought possible.
I would be delighted to welcome you to Beechwood so that you can experience that for yourself.
