Sports and Activities

We encourage all our pupils to participate in a wide variety of sporting activities, covering ball skills, body management, teamwork and individual tasks. Above all, the emphasis is always on fun and participation. We believe that when pupils are enjoying their sport, they are most likely to learn and to improve. Playing in fixtures against other schools also enables them to experience team spirit and gain a sense of achievement.

Physical Education is also a popular and successful examination subject for study at GCSE.

We offer a full range of sporting activities. In the Senior School all students are encouraged to play football, rugby, hockey and cricket, netball, basketball, rounders, volleyball and badminton. The curriculum also includes athletics, fitness training and gymnastics.

In addition, trained coaches take extra-curricular classes in tennis, judo, dance, ballet and self-defence. These lessons take place at lunchtimes or after school.

Students are encouraged to experience a wide variety of sports and develop a broad base of interests, the emphasis being on fun and participation. Sports facilities include hockey and football pitches, netball, basketball and tennis courts, cricket nets, gymnasium, badminton and volleyball courts, and we regularly use our MUGA (Multi Use Games Area).

Additionally, we offer up to 20 clubs e.g.  LAMDA, drama, art, Model United Nations General Assembly, subject revision clubs.
