Personal Development
Every member of the Sixth Form is encouraged to work to the best of his/her ability and aim high academically.
Leadership and responsibility are an important part of life in the Beechwood Sixth Form. Students are encouraged to contribute positively to the wider school community and develop the confidence, integrity and leadership skills that will support them well beyond their school years.
Opportunities for responsibility exist throughout the school, culminating in senior leadership roles within the Sixth Form, including Head Pupils, Deputy Head Pupils, House Captains and Prefects. These students play an important role within the school community, acting as role models for younger pupils and helping to strengthen the connection between students and staff.
While leadership positions are highly valued, we believe that every Sixth Form student has an important role to play within the life of the school. All students are encouraged to lead by example through their attitude, conduct, commitment and contribution to the community around them.
Students selected for formal leadership roles take on additional responsibilities alongside their academic studies and co-curricular commitments. Whether supporting school events, mentoring younger pupils, representing the student voice or helping to uphold the values and ethos of Beechwood, these roles provide valuable opportunities for personal growth, teamwork and service.
