GCSE Results 2021

12 August 2021

Following hot on the heels of the strong A level results released only two days ago, the Year 11 students at Beechwood have also received impressive GCSE and IGCSE results, rewarding their hard work through the unprecedented disruption and uncertainty over the past two years.

The students have shown incredible resilience by adapting to the changing demands of their studies. Periods of distance learning and extensive testing have required levels of perseverance and motivation beyond that expected of previous year groups, and the students receive our full admiration for how they have risen to the challenge, displaying extraordinary maturity and initiative to achieve their results.

• 38% of all examinations were graded A/A* or 9/8/7
• More than a third (37%) of students achieved at least six A/A*s, and the top performer received a grade 9 in seven subjects
• In each GCSE or IGCSE, pupils at Beechwood achieved on average more than one grade higher than the grade predicted from their cognitive ability test (Value Added = 1.2 grades)

We congratulate the students on their performance and join them in celebrating the results they so richly deserve, wishing them every success in their continued education.

Grades Proportion of GCSEs
9/8 or A* 28%
